number 1,040-ish.

Fruitful is good, too.
Imagine if you were given the assignment
to write over 1000 emails?
Yikes.
No one ever told me I would write
over a thousand Friday emails.
You just do it.
That is the difference
between an amateur and a professional.
Somehow
writing an email on Fridays became my job.
Many artists and creative people
never get the memo
that being an artist is a real job.
If you apply yourself to it,
you will eventually
start to make a difference.
But you have to see it as a job.
You have to get up and do the work.
Every week I decide to make this email better
than last week.
Every week I choose to find a way to tell this story:
After 1040 Fridays
God can still be trusted.
You can still take a risk
and walk by faith
and not be afraid.
Really.
If nothing else,
God provided five macs
so I could keep sending you an email.
And he kept me fed
and sheltered
enough
to keep writing.
This email was the spark that launched
the largest postal campaign in U.S. history.
This email got me on the terrorist watch list.
This email triggered over a thousand book sales in one day.
This email launched a network across thirty-eight nations.
Don't give up.
Maybe you are making a wave
with all the kicking of your feet.
Just do the work
and be faithful.
