A different kind of warfare
Text within this block will maintain its original spacing when publishedThank you for your prayers.
Last Sunday I began a series on Spiritual Warfare and the Artist.
In 2017,
the Lord asked me to go off all social media,
close my G account,
and stop watching news.
I struggled with this direction,
because we live in a world immersed in digital media.
And of course,
a lot of people told me I was nuts,
and that I would never build a big ministry that way.
Who said I was building a big ministry?
We are in a time of war.
You don't behave like a civilian
when you are a warrior in a time of war.
In Zechariah 1:21
he has a vision of four "horns."
As a reminder, these horns represent armies and power.
In the vision, the four horns
create an alliance
so that "no one can raise his head."
Zechariah was describing psychological warfare.
From the Encyclopedia Britannica.
Psychological warfare refers to the use of propaganda and psychological tactics to influence the beliefs, emotions, and behaviors of an enemy or target audience, often to demoralize them or gain a strategic advantage. It has been employed throughout history, including in modern military operations, to manipulate perceptions and undermine opposition.
A proud world leader once
said he would use a
"whole of society" approach
to push his agenda.
What he meant was
the arts,
news media,
theatre and entertainment industries,
schools and universities,
corporations and advertisers,
and social media
were all enlisted as willing allies
in exchange for the perception of being
the "elite" and "the cool kids."
It worked.
The voting box was just an afterthought.
Funny how people will sell out everything that matters
to go to the right party or to get a big prize.
"Right thinking"people,
with very few exceptions,
bought into a set of beliefs and attitudes
that are contrary to Christian faith and practice.
These beliefs infiltrated churches, denominations, and ministries.
See how the enemy used culture to
take out the church?
The Church was once
the cohesive
moral,
spiritual,
and social center
of every town, village, and city.
Now our common understanding is gone.
Psychological warfare tells a strong enemy
to believe they are weak
so real weaklings can take over.
This is why I say,
if you have an uncritical attitude
toward the box in your living room,
your phone in your pocket,
or the entertainment you consume,
stop.
Detox.
You are being programmed.
You are being told what to think.
You are not getting the information you need.
And most dangerous of all,
some of you are being led to hell.
Really.
I am not joking.
I have seen many walk away from God
because of the media they consume.
You were not created to consume.
You were created to create.
So the first step for a warrior artist
is to learn the difference
between the voice of the Father
and the world, the flesh, and the devil.
You have to deprogram yourself
by turning off all the media.
You have to learn how to think
and take this advice from St. Paul in Philippians 4:8:
. . . whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
He Never Fails,
Christ
