A weekend of miracles: Gathering the Nations.

In March I asked a member of our community from Scotland if she could come to the U.S. for Gather Us In. Her reply was, “If that happened, it would be a miracle.”

We had a lot of miracles this week.

Our “six foot educational rental” grand piano became a top-tier Yamaha Concert Grand. We got to pray for the delivery guys, and they stayed for a spontaneous worship moment: another miracle.

Elizabeth Averill brought to life the story of Mary Slessor, a Scottish missionary whose bravery and tenacity brought the gospel to several tribes in Africa.

Nancy Lane taught on how she has let go of her performance grid for a Kingdom grid, and how she uses Artists at a Shift in Time as a model for her daily rhythm. For many in attendance, Nancy’s talk was the highlight of the weekend.

Rachel Neikirk taught on Polypoikilos, and how we are called to confront the anti-Christ spirit as warrior artists. Rachel and Iphigenia Berg created our Sukkah, and we had many wonderful works of art in our show.

Many years ago Stacey Stephens sent me the words to the “Ballad of Belonging House” and we were able to finally sing it together as a community.

I am getting a little rest, and next week we return to our normal routine.
