And the Holy Spirit Came

When you really read the gospels
you discover a lot of things
that bend our conventional understanding.
There is evidence Jesus preached in Greek,
lived among Gentiles,
and had a very complex community around him.

There was a band of wealthy women
who followed Jesus and paid for all his needs.
Jesus had a house that he returned to.
Jesus had a guest room near Jerusalem.
Jesus had a "school of ministry."

We wouldn't call it that,
but Jesus took one hundred and twenty
out of the crowd
and that group he released to go out
heal the sick,
preach the kingdom,
and cast out demons.

And if you are Jewish,
120 is a meaningful number.
It is the government of man, 10,
multiplied by the Kingdom of God, 12.
It is heaven invading earth.

For Belonging House,

the Friday email

and our call to raise up an army of artists
who will build Jesus a throne in the earth.

In Acts,

were the ones there on the day of Pentecost.
It was to them
that the Holy Spirit came.

Holy Spirit,
we ask you to visit every person who reads my Friday emails.
Move among us and produce a mighty Christian revolution,
and cast the fear of the unknown out of our lives.
