There is an old "preacher story"
about a city man visiting a successful farm
in the country.
The city slicker said to the farmer:
"Wow,
God sure blessed you with a wonderful farm."
The farmer wryly replied:
"You should have seen it when God had it without me."

I have been "living by faith" a la George Muller
for over eighteen years.
I don't discuss it as much as I once did.
I live by faith to do what I do.
I don't live by faith
to live by faith.

I have a purpose:
to raise up an army of artists who will build
Jesus a throne in the earth.
I make disciples
who are called to shape and transform culture.
And lately
I have been reminded that outside our merry band,
folks still do not understand
why making Christian disciples in the arts matters.

I have to tell the story more effectively,
and to a bigger audience.
And so,
I am back on Substack,
because my target audience hangs out here.

Your inner life
determines your creative output.
And I would also argue,
the inner life of our civilization
manifests the same way.

A big part of my work
is telling the story,
and I have been through about ten platforms
that I use for storytelling.
Email has become marketing and not content.

I loved publishing on Ghost,
and for the first time
the Friday email really
looked like what I wanted to publish.
But we were losing
subscribers and money.
Bummer.

And so my Friday emails are being
pruned
weeded,
and hopefully heading into a fruitful spring.
Faith requires making decisions
and being wise.

Sometimes in your walk with God
you have to make choices and decisions.
And they all require wisdom.
I have to bring all my decisions to God
and ask for his perspective.
Never go forward without the Lord's guidance.

And so,
I am back to Substack.

There are more changes ahead as we lay a new foundation
for Belonging House:
