Are you feeling gooey?

Feeling ooey-gooey?

That's the feeling of transition.

And by the way, thanks for praying for me and Belonging House.

Many people around me
are going through big changes.
That means leaving the safe and the comfortable
behind.
And walking out toward something
that isn't there yet.

Moving is like that.
So is growing.
And so is healing.
We have prayed for hundreds of people
who have been set free from trauma.
This week I prayed for a man
who had a back problem.
When I prayed, I felt the knot move
and he was healed.
In that moment
the trick is to act like the pain is gone.
The same is true for trauma.
Eventually you have to learn to live like
a healthy, non-traumatized person.

The old is gone,
and the new has come.

The past year has been a year of transition,
and there have been many days
where I had to accept
that I can't go to the corner pub
and have a pint with my friends,
or go out for Indian in Angel Market,
or walk through the V&A to clear my thinking.
I had to stop looking back.

The first step toward the new thing
is turning from the old.
You cannot hear the New Sound
when you are singing an old song.

You have to surrender,
and you have to trust
that in the grey fog of the future,
the Lord who is already there--
is already there.

Fear not, God can be trusted.
Really.
