Coming Under the Belonging House Roof

Last week I shared about the one hundred and twenty.
After sending out the 120,
Jesus sent out another group.
This group was closer to Jesus
and were given the commission
to go with nothing,
and preach the Kingdom.

Seventy-two is six times twelve,
some Bibles say seventy,
but I think it was seventy-two.
This is humanity coming into the Kingdom.
This is the mission of human beings
to be the vehicle
for the Kingdom of God
on the earth.

The seventy-two were just that,
they were the living embodiment
of the Kingdom of God
on the earth.
And Jesus said
that he saw "Satan fall like lightning"
because of their work.

When you get close to the Kingdom,
you experience the intensity of the battle.
You discover
that you are now in a war
and you need someone standing next to you.
This is why our calling to artists
is a call to raise up an army.

An army is disciplined,
and is committed to solid core values.
Seth Godin described a shared culture
this way:
"People like us do things like this."

If you are in the trenches,
you want to know the person next to you
is as committed as you,
there is safety and support
in a common set of values and behaviors.

You cannot do it alone,
but you also can't do it without some
solid holy habits.

Many Christians are like a blowtorch
that has been turned on all the way.
There is a bright yellow flame,
but it goes all over the place
and it is ineffective, wild, and wasteful.
It can set things on fire,
but it can't do much else.

When you tighten that nob on the blowtorch,
the flame changes color,
and suddenly,
you have a tool that can cut steel.

Making the Belonging House commitment
is about becoming
a little copy of Jesus
the Master Copy of the Father.
We ask those who come under
the Belonging House roof to make the following commitment:

Agree to our "12 I wills."
We also ask that you read the daily gospel every day and take time to listen to God.
Pray for Belonging House regularly.
Form or become part of a small group of artists.
Fast one day a week, traditionally on Fridays.
Support Belonging House financially.

Beginning April 1,
our Mighty Network community
will become a closed group
for those who have made the Belonging House commitment.
We will be creating content and opportunities
for those who have come under the Belonging House roof.

Those who make this commitment
are core to our life and mission.

This is part of putting a door on the house,
and we hope this will make our community stronger.
